Receiving a Letter of Hope - One Together Podcast

I get a lot of questions from people asking things like 'what do you write to people?', 'how do you know what to say to strangers?', 'how do you know what to write?'. I always find it hard to answer that question, because I don't really feel like there is anything wrong you can say to someone who is struggling. Often, we can overthink how to act around people who are struggling with their mental health, who are crying, or who seem down in general. A lot of us can overthink how we should behave and respond to someone in that position. I think one thing I have learnt through my own experiences is that as long as you show kindness and compassion, you really can't say anything 'wrong'. Simply showing that you care can be enough to help.

I was lucky enough a few months ago to be offered the opportunity by Heather Maltman to share my Letters of Hope Journey on her wonderful One Together Podcast.

Once we finished the podcast, I asked heather if she would let me send her one of my letters... I wanted to give her something to keep and read on the days that she might need it. Heather shared her experience of opening one of my letters, which you can watch below.
